Neil joined Ritson Smith in 1992 as a trainee, qualified as a CA in 1995 and became a partner in 2002. His responsibilities as a partner cover audit, financial due diligence, outsourcing and looking after Ritson Smith’s internal IT requirements.
Neil started work in the Ritson Smith audit team, during which time he worked with many of the firm’s largest clients in the owner-managed sector. This was followed by a period of secondment within a client’s accounting department.
In 1997, Neil was promoted to audit manager, a position he held for five years before becoming a partner.
Neil continues to be involved in the audit function of the firm and takes an active role in financial due diligence assignments. He is the partner responsible for developing the firm's outsourcing department including payroll services.
Neil shares the firm’s passion for golf, in his case at Oldmeldrum Golf Club, and is an active member of the Scout Association.
